Some of the more open ones seem to be things you should be seeing the environment through? Rather than focusing on the object persay. Kind of how your reaction to a place is mediated by emotions? The objects become a metaphor for the lens you see the landscape through.
Like the idea of a sort of metaphorical "frame" - never thought of it like that. It's true I like space and gaps in my sculptures, and it's nice to glimpse setting through them. Not sure if frame/lens is a sort of mediator, maybe one which zooms in and focusses on the setting; or whether sculpture should merely blend in or be "at one" with environment. Certainly pause for thought...
